To mark the occasion, we’ve assembled an eclectic bill of friends and local favourites, who’re primed to kickstart your bank holiday in the best way possible. If you can’t be bothered to read our hard sell, take a look at NARC. Magazine’s rather more concise preview!

Tickets are available from WeGotTickets and Reflex. It’s a just a fiver for four great acts, so frankly you’d be daft not to!

Once again, many thanks to ILMB poster guru Iona Brown for her design! Check out what she does over at IONAFRANCESBROWNDOINGART.

Kapil Seshasayee, Jennifer Walton, Faithful Johannes @ Little Buildings, 26/04/2018

After (another) shamefully long gap, we’re back this Thursday with our first show of 2018!

For this date, we thought we’d do something a bit different –  a nifty, off-kilter bill at Ouseburn’s Little Buildings featuring three terrific artists with very different sounds. It’s “a bold and beautiful looking line-up” according to NARC. Magazine. Read their preview here!

We’ve also got a new look courtesy of the fab Iona Brown. Take a look at what she does over at IONAFRANCESBROWNDOINGART.

Baker Island are one of our favourite local bands, and we’re delighted to be helping them out with a launch gig for their new album, Restless Legs.

We’re celebrating the record’s release this Saturday with a special gig at one of Newcastle’s finest venues, The Mining Institute – and we’ve come up with a supporting cast befitting such a grand setting.

Wozniak, Figmennt, Lost On Me @ The Cumberland Arms, 12/08/2017

It’s been eight months since we last put on a gig, but we’re back with a bang this weekend with perhaps our strongest – and definitely our loudest – bill to date!

It’s our first time in Ouseburn at one of our favourite venues in The Cumberland Arms… now all we need is a crowd! Glorious noise and great beer; how else would you want to spend your Saturday night?!

Richard Dawson – Peasant

Richard-Dawson-Peasant-packshot-HI-RES-1

I’ve long since lost count of the number of times I’ve seen Richard Dawson play live, but one occasion which has particularly stuck with me is his appearance at last year’s Home Gathering festival. There’s plenty that I recall about that performance: his formidable voice booming off the cold, stone walls of Hoults Yard’s small second stage; the thought that such physical toll couldn’t be doing any good for his health; the feeling as he tore through The Vile Stuff that this was up there with the greatest things to which I’d ever bourn witness… Perhaps my abiding memory, though, is of the evident newcomer stood beside me, whose wide eyes, gaping jaw and spontaneous cries of “FUCCCCKKKKKKK!” told of sheer, unabated awe.

We’ve all been there…

Okay Champ – I Don’t Like This Anymore

a0425723045_10There’s something intoxicating, enveloping and perhaps a wee bit scary about I Don’t Like This Anymore, the debut EP from Newcastle’s Okay Champ. Although they’re by no means the first exciting post punk newcomers we’ve encountered in recent months,  this quintet have already succeeded in distinguishing themselves from the pack; their accomplished musical palette and world-weary outlook culminating in a release that’s equal parts bleak, abrasive and grimly enticing.
